Cyclone Marcia

Cyclone Marcia was one of those Cyclones that jut wrecked everything in its path, ruining Local environments such as 7 mile beach with its massive waves, The Pass and every other environement in the area. The Cyclone Created1.5 metre-plus sets that wrapped around into the Pass break, as Byron Bay felt the edge of Cyclone Marcia's weather vortex.

Some places that got flooded were in river valleys in the Tweed, Brunswick, Richmond and Wilson and Clarence Valleys and the Orara River.

iWith all of the heavy rain and strong winds, rubbish and trash was blown around the area and messed up making a mess and sending rubbish into the ocean which is very devestating.

Cycone Marcia ranged from a category 2 to a category 3 with up to winds of 208 km/h. These sort of winds effects envrironments such as mangroves, rocky shores and sandy shores, open shores and coral reef.
Out in the Open shore waves were created up to 20-30 foot, these sort of waves would have disturbed marine life and possibly harmed them. With the Coral Reef such as the ones near the Pass, parts of the reef would have been effected such as coral breaking off or getting destroyed, with rocky shores near the light house this wind would have eroded the rocks more, Mongroves located at Brunswick Head would have been very bad because during the cyclone they was non-stop rain so animals such as white faced heron would have got its nest destroyed and losing its off springs and animals which rely on low tide would have found it hard to find food because the mangroves were always flooded, and with sandyshore located at main beach would have got all of its banks destroyed, the trees and its environment there would have been ruined from the waves coming up and hitting the environment.

These are the things that Cyclone Marcia did to the Byron Local Environment.
